Everyone asks me why I bake?
Well, as far as I can remember, baking has been a simple pleasure of life for me. Few things make me happier than the smell of a freshly baked chocolate cake, the first sip of coffee in the morning, the laughter of my children…in my book, living well means indulging in simple pleasures.
Baking is one such pleasure, bringing back memories of a lovely childhood… of the first cake I baked when I was nine, of my cousin and I being thirteen and organizing a bake sale outside our home.
And thus, I was baking for friends when I was studying at graduate school while flipping pages of my Larousse cookbook; baking for colleagues during my years in corporate life, baking for family when married, and then, when I was blessed with two lovely kids, I was baking for Mannat and Amanat with all my heart.
And this is how Baking From My Heart was born. A patisserie which fulfills an unknown and long-held desire in where I only bake goods that I’m happy to serve my own family!
Aarti Sarin Jain is an avid baker and runs an exclusive gluten-free test kitchen. She discovered the joys of a gluten-free living after her elder kid was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. She often experiments with new forms and varieties of gluten-free food without compromising either on taste or quality. Equipped with a strong background in hospitality with ‘The Oberoi Group Of Hotels’ and corporate sector for almost a decade with companies like STAR TV and Yum! Brands, she has successfully designed her personal brand of gluten-free food.
The personal childhood calling and passion motivated her in the direction of taking up baking as a full time work. Over the years, Baking has became a personal lifestyle and mantra for happy living. Her philosophy in her words is ‘to live life gluten free and King size’. She lives in New Delhi with her husband and three children.
